Divorce Dos and Don'ts

Divorce proceedings can be complex and emotionally taxing. Having a knowledgeable attorney by your side is crucial.

During the divorce procedure, DO:

  • Share all information with your attorney, no matter how personal, as this can and WILL be used in your proceedings.
  • Use the professional guidance of your attorney in all aspects of the case, as their training and knowledge of the courts and its interpretations will ultimately resolve your case in the best practical manner.

With these points in mind, DO NOT:

  • Cross over any lines in proper etiquette during your proceedings as any and ALL issues can and WILL be used by opposing counsel against you.
  • Assume there is any special secret to cases against males/fathers, as there is NO such thing in the courts or the law.
    Hide assets and incomes.
  • Create any circumstance in which you can be charged with domestic abuse.
  • Any professional positions held by you can be impacted by the ruling, including possession and carrying of weapons (especially if your livelihood depends upon them), secured access to any work area (such as the Labs, military bases, and secured work areas).
  • These cases supersede the divorce case, can be extended, and can be reported outside of the divorce case.

Contact us to ensure your divorce proceedings are handled with the utmost care and professionalism.
